Welcome to babybites Westchester!

In January 2008, Tanya Charney started attending babybites Westchester luncheons when her oldest son was just 8 weeks old.

As a newbie to her “career of motherhood” and to Westchester, Tanya found the luncheons a real lifeline, and she met some wonderful other new moms with whom she is still friends – to this day!

Indeed, she formed a good friendship with Laura too, so much so that in 2009, Tanya took over event planning for Westchester events – and is having a great time!

After many years working in consulting in the city, Tanya is excited to be part of the babybites’ vision and hopes to be able to make a real difference in the lives of other new moms, making it all a little easier as they face this incredible journey.

Tanya has expanded the footprint of babybites Westchester from Larchmont, to White Plains, Mt Kisco, and Greenwich and will continue to run events in all of these locations over the coming year.

babybites Westchester remains committed to bringing new moms in a spirit of support, friendship, and learning.

Tanya lives in Armonk with her husband and two sons.

About Westchester Events

Luncheons

At our Luncheons, new moms come together with their babies to have a delicious lunch in a baby friendly restaurant.  An expert speaker joins speaks to the moms about a topic relevant to new mommyhood — sleep, starting solids, going back to work.  The list goes on and on.  Moms have a great afternoon out, meet and connect with other new moms, learn valuable lessons, eat a hot meal prepared by someone else (!) and often take home fun prizes and giveaways.

Luncheons are intended for moms with babies who are still comfortable sitting for an extended period of time; 0-12m olds are always welcome but if a topic interests you and your child is older, just let us know ahead of time.

Seminars

We host seminars that are intended for a variety of audiences; some are in-person events, and some are webinars conducted online i.e. from the comfort of your own home. In addition we have recently started a Mommy “Bites” radio show covering hot topics too.

Our in-person seminars are often scheduled around toddlers’ typical nap times – either in the morning or afternoon – and are held in spaces where we can also provide babysitting in an adjacent room. Alternatively some seminars are held on weeknights or weekends in order to accommodate working moms and dads. The goal of these seminars is to provide a situation that enables moms (and dads!) to listen and focus on the speaker.

Our webinars are usually conducted in the evenings and have a fixed topic-focused format, with slides presented real-time online and with time for questions at the end.

Our new radio shows are usually conducted in the daytime and are more chatty and free-flowing, are accompanied by a live twitter feed, and have the opportunity for live caller questions, plus answers to questions submitted live via twitter and the BlogTalkRadioShow website. Previous shows will be archived and available for viewing/listening at later times.

Expectant Moms & Dads Events

We host events for expecting moms, and often dads too, on an array of topics, such as breastfeeding, buying for baby, your birth options and others.  Our expectant moms events typically take place on weeknights, where working moms can learn and socialize with other expectant moms in a comfortable setting.  Our expectant moms events usually include very fabulous giveaways and prizes.

Special Events

Of course, all of our events are special, but . . .  a few times a year, we offer “special events,” which include fitness specials, holiday themed parties, family-fun activities, special photo-session events, and more.

Buzz

Tanya – Thanks so much for organizing a wonderful event today. The speaker was really informative and I swapped numbers with a couple of the other moms too! I’m already looking forward to the next luncheon!

Sarah, Scarsdale

I had such a great time at the babybites event last week I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much Eden (my son) and I enjoyed it. We’ve been cooped up all winter with this weather but are so glad we mbraved the elements to make it out. It was so nice to talk to other moms of babies exactly Eden’s age, and great to meet you too! Thank you!

Amy, Larchmont

Hi Tanya – thanks for putting together a great luncheon today! The speaker answered all my questions and it was so reassuring to hear her sensible advice. I’ll definitely be contacting her again if (when?) I run into those kinds of problems again… this motherhood thing has such a steep learning curve but you are really helping me through it!

Sally, Pleasantville

All the mothers I met today were very friendly and its comforting to know there are other mothers going through the same things as I am.

Jaewon, Yorktown Heights
